British Columbia: Forests Defender gets works on getting EU support to end ancient forest logging
Hi All, yesterday I presented a petition to the government of
Niedersachsen (a large German state) imploring them to convert their
entire government paper usage to ‘recyclingpapier,’ and a ban on the
use of paper derived from primaeval forests, such as in the GBR. Here
are politicians from 3 large German political party’s accepting the
petition, and Stephan Wenzel, the Green rep from Göttingen tells me
that it is very likely to pass. If so, all government reports,
correspondence -anything using paper will be on 100% recycled paper!
This would set an enormous precedent in Germany and set an example to
the world of progressive, forward-thinking government. Cheers, Ingmar
