Everyone can create art to help save the rainforest

Here’s my very small attempt at raising awareness for deforestation. I was originally inspired by an elephant I met in India. He was probably happier than he seemed, but the knuckle brace and metal chains disturbed me. He had fantastic circular markings at the edge of his ears and along his trunk. I started thinking about where these design elements could be incorporated. Further more, I started thinking about the well beings of these incredible animals. In this design, the tusks represent the trees that have been either cut down or died. The elephant is being eaten away by caterpillars just like the the forests of natural habits for countless animals are being invaded by the humans.
