California: 640 acre R&R in SE Tehama county protected from development
Just nine short months after they first contacted the Northern

Ranch in eastern Tehama County are able to say that their entire ranch
property is protected from development so that future generations can
enjoy it’s large expanse of oak woodlands, grasslands, and wetlands.

R&R Ranch is located in southeastern Tehama County and is surrounded
by TNC’s Dye Creek Preserve to the south and DFG’s Tehama Wildlife
Area to the north, west and east.

The conservation values protected
under the easement include unplowed grasslands, blue oak woodlands,
wetlands, natural stream courses and waterways, unfragmented open
space, corridors for the unimpaired passage of wildlife, natural
communities that provide habitat for native wildlife species,
including the Tehama Deer Herd, raptors, waterfowl, and many species
of common and rare plants and animals.
