USA: America knows it’s capable of making big dreams come true
Martin Luther King Jr. gave America the dream of black and white
people working together. He knew it would be hard work, but he had the
courage to share that dream with the nation. That dream has nearly
been accomplished, and it is time for America to look for another
dream. Our world’s environment is being damaged more every day.
A dream to not only slow down global warming but also make our
environment cleaner (by planting trees and working together) is a
little far fetched, but Martin Luther King’s dream was also a little
far fetched to some people.

The Amazon rainforest is estimated to
vanish by 2080. I’ll probably still be alive then. The Himalayan
glaciers are melting so fast they could disappear by 2035. Will my
kids never see an example of what carved our Utah mountains?

The condition of our world scares me, and it is time that we dream, and
then work toward cleaning up our messy world. America already knows
that it is capable of making big dreams come true. Hannah Brodke
