From operating in 18 countries down to only 13 in less than 2 years?  Old George Weyco must be rolling over in his grave over this new non-executive chairmanship that has become the rule of the day (See below). And if Weyco keeps rolling in such an extreme wrong direction as they are now they may cease to exist by the end of the economic downturn…

And not only that but Weyco transferred title of the majority of it’s ownership to a new Weyco corporation ( ) which we recently found out has only filed what we suspect to be a “preliminary” blank piece of paper as articles of incorporation in it’s home state of WA, USA? Regardless, it’s gonna take a while for the Bust-Weyerhaeuser team to sort out what’s really going on… Most of all know we will always expose, depose, litigate (maybe even a little recycling / composting on the side?) all the last scraps of Weyco’s plummeting empire! –Editor, Forest Policy Research

So here’s the latest in the increasingly mysterious experience:

Weyerhaeuser said today that its board has elected Charles Williamson as non-executive chairman. Williamson, 60, will replace Chairman Steven Rogel, 65, who will retire April 15. Rogel retired as chief executive last April after reaching the mandatory retirement age for senior executives at the Federal Way-based timber, packaging and real estate company. Dan Fulton remains president and CEO of Weyerhaeuser. Williamson joined the company’s board in 2004 and has served as leading director since 2006. Weyerhaeuser also said today that Wayne Murdy will join the board Jan. 15 following the planned retirement of Donald Mazankowski, 73, later this month.
