Costa Rica: Children’s Eternal Rainforest

The Monteverde Conservation League (MCL) is a non-profit organization
that has been preserving a protecting the natural treasure in
Monteverde since 1986. The MCL has made it their mission to conserve,
preserve and rehabilitate the tropical forest in Monteverde. Today,
after years of campaigning to purchase the land for its protection,
the MCL boasts of having founded the largest private reserve in Costa
Rica: The Children’s Eternal Rainforest.

The Children’s Eternal Rainforest is located in the western side of
the Tilaran Mountain Range and holds a number of peaks, mountain
ridges, valleys, canyons and furious rivers.

At 54,000 acres in size, the protected rainforest holds a combination of primary and secondary forest along with recovering areas as well.

The Children’s Eternal Rainforest can be categorized within three distinct forest types that include the seasonal evergreen forest, cloud forest and a seasonal rain forest.

Visitors at the Children’s Eternal Rainforest in Monteverde will find that the reserve has set up its infrastructure to receive eco-tourists, students and researchers who wish to explore the region and learn more about the unique biodiversity at Monteverde.
