Georgia: Grave robbers harvest the dead with horses, call it restorative forestry

The Monastery of the Holy Spirit in Conyers has contracted horse
loggers to salvage trees from its cemetery. The loggers describe their
work as “restorative forestry” because it preserves the beauty and
recreational use of the forest. Melanie Carrier (above) rides the team
in followed by Chad Vogel on Monday.

Chad Miano (right) drives a stud
into the timber that will be attached to a chain and team of horses,
which drag the wood out along narrow paths.
